What’s Open and When?

Effective September 17, Western returned to a modified version of Phase Three in its return-to-campus plan. Most Western buildings remain open however some have been locked or require Western ONECard swipe access by designated groups.

All members of the Western community are required to wear non-medical masks or face coverings indoors, in the presence of others, and in common and shared spaces.

Most academic buildings will continue to be open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or later as class schedules dictate. Students will still need their Western ONECards to access classrooms.

COVID-19 Testing

As of Monday, Sept. 28, on-campus testing will be at the Western Student Recreation Centre. This replaces the outdoor testing trailer.

See Western's COVID-19 testing webpage for operating hours and other details.

Any student or university employee is eligible to receive a test at the Recreation Centre clinic, and we are relying on the community to make their best judgment about whether one is needed.

Those who are symptomatic or have been in contact with a positive confirmed COVID-19 case should be tested. Anyone else who is reasonably worried they may have been exposed to COVID-19, or who are required to take a test after arriving from abroad and completing quarantine, should come to Recreation Centre Clinic to get tested as well.

Student Health Care Clinic: Symptomatic patients requiring a physician's assessment can book a virtual visit with a doctor. Follow-up examination and testing in person may be scheduled at the doctor's discretion, which may include a COVID-19 test. To book an appointment, please call the Student Health Care Clinic at 519-661-3030.

Questions about testing on campus? Students can contact Student Health Care at 519-661-3030 and employees can contact Workplace Health at Western at 519-661-2047.
